Multi Tax Configuration
Introduction
The Taxation Module in the Cloud Management Portal helps businesses manage taxes efficiently adhere to regional tax laws (e.g., VAT, GST, sales tax). It use to display clear tax calculations for cloud service usage. Also, apply correct tax rates for services used across different countries.
The Multi Tax Configuration feature in the Stackbill Admin Portal is designed to help businesses apply and manage multiple tax rates efficiently across various criteria. It helps Businesses operating across multiple regions or countries can configure specific tax rules, such as VAT, GST, or sales tax, based on user location or service usage.
It allows configuring multiple tax rates for a single transaction, such as local, state, and federal taxes, ensuring all applicable taxes are applied correctly. The system dynamically calculates and applies appropriate tax rates during invoicing, reducing manual intervention and errors. Ideal for businesses expanding globally, this feature ensures compliance with tax laws across diverse geographical areas.
Multi Tax Settings Navigation

Log into the admin portal.

Navigate to Billing in the menu, and select Multi Tax configuration from the options.

Toggle the Enable Tax button to activate tax functionality.

Click Update to confirm and save the changes. Once saved, you will be redirected to the Multi Tax Configuration Page.

Configuring Multi Tax Rules
1. Select Organization:
- Use the drop-down menu to choose the Organization Name. If the organization details are missing, update them by navigating to Config → My Organization → Organization Details.

2. Define Location :
- Select the Country and State to which the tax rules apply.
3. Enter Tax Rule Details :

Provide Tax Name: Input a recognizable name for the tax (e.g., GST, VAT, Sales Tax).

Specify Tax Percentages:
- Enter the Organization Tax Percentage (overall tax).
- Enter the Individual Tax Percentage (applies to specific services or items).
4. Set Effective Period :

Choose the Apply From month and year using the drop-down menu to specify when the tax rule becomes active.

Click Add Rule to include the tax rule in the system.

5. Review Added Rules :

All added rules will appear in the Added Taxes Table for review.

Confirm that all details are accurate.
6. Save Changes :

In the Added Taxes Table, you can:
- View: Review all configured tax rules.
- Edit: Make changes to existing tax configurations.
- Delete: Remove unwanted tax rules.

Click Update to save all modifications and ensure the updated tax rules are active.

7. User Portal Display :
For Prepaid Users

Taxes are calculated immediately at the point of payment. Specifically:

During a recharge transaction, taxes are applied instantly through the payment gateway.

The tax amount is calculated based on the recharge value and added to the transaction details.

This ensures tax compliance before updating service credits to the user's account.

For Postpaid Users

Taxes are applied at the end of the billing cycle. Specifically:

Once the draft invoice for monthly usage is finalized, it is converted into a due invoice.

Tax calculations occur at this stage to ensure all accrued charges for the month are included before taxes are applied.
